You no longer have to go to the spa or spend a lot of money to enjoy the benefits of a body wrap. With the proper ingredients, making wraps from home is an ideal way to come up with something that will help you detox, fight cellulite and lose unwanted inches. Keep in mind that only top-notch organic ingredients should be used and they should be blended in perfectly, to get the desired results. An individual is also required to exfoliate the skin before wrapping it, as this helps the formula to penetrate deeper into the skin for more efficient results. Below are examples of body wraps at home, you can try out.
Olive oil and seaweed powder
• Ingredients needed for this wrap include:
• 3tbsp of olive oil
• A cup of seaweed powder
• Two cups of coffee or water
• Two drops of anti-cellulite oils (fennel, rosemary or juniper) – optional
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together until you achieve a mixture that looks like mud. After this, you can add your favorite essential oils. You can apply the wrap on a towel or in the shower to avoid dirtying everything. Go ahead and apply the mixture on the problem areas or to the entire body. After you are through with the application, use plastic wrap on various areas of the body, such as stomach, thighs, arms, etc. Plastic is preferred because it tends to increase heat. However, some people prefer to use bandages that have been soaked in warm water because it keeps the areas hydrated for longer. You can also use both the plastic and bandage which is also a good method. After you are done, lie down and cover yourself with a blanket so that you can sweat as you rest. Remain in this position for about one hour and take a warm shower to rinse off any leftover seaweed mixture.
Green tea and clay
Another option you have for body wraps at home is to use a mixture of clay and green tea. For this you will need:
• Two cups of green tea
• A cup of clay (bentonite powder)
• Two drops of essential oils (optional)
Mix all the ingredients together until you get the desired consistency. If you are not happy with the results, add more ingredients for a different consistency. Bentonite reacts with metal objects; thus they should be avoided when mixing the ingredients. Follow all the steps that are listed above and make sure that you rinse off the mixture well.
Olive oil and Epsom salt
Epsom salt and olive oil are other great ingredients for body wraps at home. To get the most out of this, you will need:
• 3 tbsp of olive oil
• A cup of Epsom salt
• Four cups of purified warm water/ 4 cups of herbal tea
• Two drops of rosemary essential oil
• A sheet
Mix the Epsom salt and boiled water in your sink. Let the salt dissolve and soak the sheet in the water. Massage the oils into your body before wrapping the warm sheet on your body leaving the head free. Wrap plastic around the sheets to keep it close to the body. Bandages can also be added to keep it tight. Keep yourself warm by lying on an old blanket before you wash off the mixture.
